MAD CONNECT.

Privacy

Mad Connect stores your email, username, password hash, profile, friendships, server memberships, and messages to provide the service. Passwords are hashed; passwords and verification codes are never shared with other users.

Messages and media

Messages and attachments are stored on the service’s database. They are not end-to-end encrypted. Calls use WebRTC transport encryption; a configured media relay may carry the encrypted traffic. Direct peer-to-peer calls may reveal participants’ network IP addresses to each other. Only members of a server or conversation can retrieve its messages.

Seven-day retention

Server messages, direct messages, and their attachments expire seven days after the original send time. Editing or pinning does not extend that lifetime. Expired messages disappear from history, search, and pins; server cleanup deletes their database records and stored attachment content within one minute while the service is running. Account details, memberships, moderation records, and friendships remain until separately deleted. Downloaded copies, screenshots, provider logs, and offline recovery archives are outside this policy. This is not a guarantee of forensic erasure from every device or backup.

Email and providers

Email verification and password reset messages are sent through the configured email provider. Relay credentials may be obtained from the configured TURN provider. Embedded YouTube videos contact YouTube when opened.

Local preview

This preview runs on the owner’s computer and uses a recovered copy of the existing database. It is for testing. The shareable link is a temporary testing tunnel, not permanent hosting. Availability depends on the owner’s computer staying on. Account deletion is handled by contacting the owner during this preview.
